A Life Dedicated to Music

Born in La Paz, Bolivia, Giselle Brodsky began her musical studies with the composer Gustavo Navarre before earning Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music in New York.

A lifelong student of the Taubman Approach since 1972, she served on the faculty of the Taubman Institute and the Golandsky Institute from 1987 to 2011, where she became internationally recognised for helping pianists overcome playing-related injuries and achieve greater technical freedom through healthy, coordinated movement.

In 1997 she co-founded the Miami International Piano Festival, one of the world's leading forums for piano artistry, and in 2015 established its Academy — creating internationally acclaimed artistic and educational programs in Miami and the Italian Alps, and fostering cultural exchange while mentoring gifted young pianists from around the world.

Her students have gone on to study and perform at many of the world's most distinguished conservatories, including the Juilliard School, the Curtis Institute of Music, Oberlin Conservatory, the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, and the Hochschule für Musik Basel.

For Brodsky, teaching is not simply the transmission of knowledge but the awakening of artistic identity. She believes that exceptional talent is only the beginning of an artist's journey, and that the teacher's role is to help each musician discover an authentic voice rooted in curiosity, imagination, integrity and a profound understanding of music.

Through her work as educator, artistic director and mentor, Giselle Brodsky has dedicated her life to cultivating artists whose technical excellence, intellectual depth and humanity enable them to communicate with authenticity and inspire audiences across generations.
